CPA Survival Stories - The Comedy Edition

Wrap up your Monday with a little humor!  I conducted a brief, highly unscientific, survey of how people felt about the CPA exam.  Here are the results...

The CPA exam is worst than giving birth – Seriously

When you’re studying for the CPA exam there is a constant black cloud that hovers over you; therefore, don’t bother taking a break and doing something fun because you won’t be able to truly enjoy it because the exam will be in your brain the entire time.

When you’re studying for the CPA exam you can’t help but think bad thoughts about the people whose job it is to make up questions for the exam – like wanting to blow them all up. (Don't take this one seriously.)

We don’t get paid enough to take these stupid tests.

However with all this said, when I found out I passed the last one it was the happiest day of my life and I was confused as to why everybody didn’t throw me a party.  I deserved it damnit!  It should have been a federal Holiday.

Sorry but this is a VERY sore subject for me.  I HATED it and almost lost my husband over it.  Not really, but it made home life very difficult.

Let me Google if I can switch careers at this point!

By studying this much, I could have been a doctor!

If I pass this cr**, I am going to Europe for a month!!

Passed all 4 parts in exactly one year (found out 1st results and last results on exact day, 1 year apart). Do not recommend working while studying because restudying is horrible

Studying for the CPA Exam is probably the most stressful thing to deal with.  It is something that you never what to ever do again in your life.

Painful, Tiring, Stressful, Never-ending

If you are feeling discouraged - keep the faith.  You're not alone!  Have a good laugh and strengthen your resolve.  One day, you will be standing on the other side and will have some great stories to tell.

Tax Update Luncheon - January 16th, 2013

In case you missed our annual Tax Update Luncheon yesterday here are a few details...

Our first meeting of the new year was January 16th.  It was great to see so many familiar faces and a couple new ones.  Liz Gammage, a Tax Supervisor with Averett Warmus Durkee, P.A., presented our annual tax update.  She talked about the individual and business tax changes, what was extended, and what's new for 2013.  It was very informative and a great refresher before busy season.

Our next event is a social on February 21st at 310 Lakeside from 6-8 p.m.  We will be collecting donations for Dress for Success.  Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that provides professional attire to disadvantaged women who have a scheduled interview.  If you bring a donation, you will receive a free drink ticket.  It's time to clean out your closets!
